Outstanding students are eligible for the following CLAS Scholarships. Applications are customarily due in early February and should be made via the Iowa Scholarship Portal for Undergraduate Students. Please contact the undergraduate advisor or the Office of Academic Programs and Student Development in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for questions regarding the application process.
Dr. George Schulz-Behrend Fund
Awards up to $3,000.
Awarded to a currently enrolled undergraduate student in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences majoring in German who has earned over 60 hours of college credit. A UI cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required. Student must be seeking their first undergraduate degree and continue to be enrolled at least part-time (6 semester hours minimum) as an undergraduate at The University of Iowa.

Richard S. and Helene D. Trump Scholarship
Awards up to $3,000.
Awarded on a rotating basis to currently enrolled undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences majoring in German or Art History. A UI cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required, as well as continued full-time enrollment in the specified program of study. Student must be seeking their first undergraduate degree and demonstrate financial need through completing a FAFSA. (Art/Art History, German).

The Department of German awards the following prizes to qualified majors. 1-2 awards are made every spring in each of the following categories, depending on available funds.
The Charles Bundy Wilson Prize ($100, awarded to an outstanding graduating senior)
The Book Prize (awarded to an outstanding German major in their 2nd or 3rd year of study)
Erich Funke Memorial Prize
